AZ Nano Tech Ultra Hydrophobic Nano Coating is a revolutionary, dual-layer system developed by AZ Nano Tech's Nano-Tech Division in collaboration with Triz GmbH KG & Co. Ltd. Using cutting-edge SURFMORE nano-modification technology, this advanced coating creates a micro-nano structured air barrier on surfaces, effectively isolating them from water intrusion and environmental contaminants.

 

This coating surpasses traditional technologies with its exceptional adhesion and abrasion resistance, making it suitable for applications where durability is essential. The system requires the application of a base coat followed by a top coat. For surfaces requiring ultra-oleophobic properties, use CAZ0004.

INSTRUCTIONS OF USE

Surface Preparation

  • Clean the Surface: Ensure the surface is free of old paint, rust, grease, oxidation, and debris. The substrate must be free of rust, oil stains, dust, and water marks.
  • Immediate Application: Apply the coating promptly after cleaning to avoid recontamination by dust.
  • Environmental Requirements:
    • Dust-free workspace.
    • Adequate ventilation or air suction systems to ensure coating quality.
  • Spray Settings:
    • Spray pressure: 0.138–0.241 MPa.
    • Nozzle diameter: 0.5–1.27 mm.
    • Spray distance: 15–25 cm.
    • Recommended film thickness: 10–25 microns.
    • Application temperature: 10–30°C.
    • Relative humidity: 45–75%.

Coating Process

  • Step 1: Base Coat Application
  1. Mix Thoroughly: Stir the base coat well before use.
  2. Spray Application: Use an HVLP spray gun for high-precision application.
  3. Thin, Even Layers: Apply multiple thin and even coats to achieve a dried film thickness of 10–25 microns.
  4. Drying Time: Allow the base coat to dry for 20–30 minutes. Use a heat gun or hairdryer to accelerate drying if needed.

Step 2: Surface Coat Application

  1. Use a Separate Spray Gun: Do not use the same spray gun as the one for the base coat. Use a clean HVLP spray gun.
  2. Thin, Even Layers: Apply multiple thin and even coats of the surface layer, ensuring the same coverage as the base coat.
  3. Final Film Thickness: Achieve a dried film thickness of 10–25 microns.

Step 3: Drying and Curing

  1. Hydrophobic Effect: The super-hydrophobic properties will appear 30 minutes after surface coat application, with optimal performance achieved after 2 hours.
  2. Curing Options:
    • Air-dry at room temperature.
    • Heat curing to accelerate the process.

Maintenance and Care

  • Dual-Coat System: Both base and top coats are required to achieve super-hydrophobic performance. Once fully cured, the coating effectively resists water intrusion.
  • Cleaning: Use low-pressure water spray to clean the surface. Dust and dirt will easily wash away, leaving the surface dry and clean.
  • Avoid Harsh Agents: Detergents, soaps, certain solvents (e.g., xylene, toluene, acetone), or high-pressure water streams may compromise the coating's performance.
  • Reapplication: If the surface coat is damaged and loses its hydrophobic properties, reapply the surface coat to restore performance.
